Joining the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno College of Business and the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Small Business Development Center this year is Chris Lynch, director of the Business Environmental Program. Lynch, an environmental attorney, is a nationally recognized expert on small business environmental and energy issues who managed a similar program for 13 years at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has testified on small business energy, climate and environmental issues before the U.S. Senate and the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
“We are delighted to have Chris join our team,” said Sam Males, state director of the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Small Business Development Center. “The ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì, Reno has become a national leader in environmental sustainability and renewable energy. These issues are critical to economic development both here in ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì and nationally.”
Lynch previously held an appointment as a Senior Fellow at Wharton for the Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership and has served as an advisor to organizations such as the Environmental Defense Fund and the Pew Center on Global Climate Change. He was appointed to four terms on the Pennsylvania Small Business Environmental Compliance Advisory Committee by three governors.

The Business Environmental Program, a program of the ÇéÉ«ÎåÔÂÌì Small Business Development Center in the University’s College of Business, provides free and confidential environmental management assistance to business and government operations. The program specializes in cost-effective strategies to reduce hazardous materials and waste generation, conserve water and energy, minimize air emissions, and maintain compliance with environmental requirements.
